Unlike many philodendrons that climb or trail, this cultivar tends to form an upright or slightly spreading stand of large leaves borne on stout stems. The leaves are elongated to broadly oval, with a smooth, glossy surface and minimal segmentation; their rich golden hue stands out in a mixed plant collection.

Native to: The species Philodendron melinonii is native to northern South America—countries such as northern Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela, Suriname and French Guiana. The ‘Gold’ form is a cultivated selection that emphasises the bright foliage colour rather than a natural wild‑variant.

Water: Allow the top ~2‑3 cm of the potting mix to dry before watering. Water thoroughly until excess drains, but avoid letting the plant sit in water as this cultivar is prone to root‑rot if over‑watered.
